We got much closer to everything than I was expecting us to, which.... was.... awesome! It was very common for us to come around a corner and have an African road block such as a HUGE bull elephant who refused to move!
This following video is pretty incredible. We were trying to go over this small bridge and these elephants had other plans for us. We stayed their for a while before I took this video and got to see them all around us. Finally though, our driver decided to merge slightly forward. The best part of the video is right at the end when the adults are circling their young to protect them. We drove quickly by and in the opposite direction to not provoke or tease them.

We drove up on this guy taking a bath!
This is the location we had the bush breakfast just a few days later. We were incredibly close to him and to be honest, I was sweating a little bit. Oh, especially the time we got stuck in the mud! I expressed my concern once we broke free and Thomas, our driver, said he wasn't nervous at all. It's not the white rhinos to worry about, but the black ones. The black ones are unpredictable and will charge if they feel like it. Lovely.
This is a black rhino. Notice the mouth comes to a point and the back is curved. This shot is taken with a strong lens. We were at least 100 yards away!
